Automobile Dacia ranks first among largest Romanian companies

Automobile Dacia SA, OMV Petrom Marketing SRL and OMV Petrom SA lead the top of the largest Romanian companies in terms of the 2015 turnover, being the only ones in the local economy to cross the RON 10 billion threshold, according to an analysis by the Ziarul Financiar.

The Trade Register data shows that the top 300 Romanian companies had an aggregated turnover of 440 billion lei in 2015 (100 billion euro), 4% more than in 2014. This result is a third of the total turnover of local companies (1.222 billion lei in 2015), and the growth of large companies is in line with the total business growth.

This is the third time in a row when Automobile Dacia ranks as the largest company, with a better turnover than last year,i.e. 19.1 billion lei and a profit of 448 million lei. OMV Petrom Marketing SRL, which is involved in the retail trading of automotive fuels, reported a turnover of nearly 15 billion lei, with a 331 million lei profit. The third place goes to OMV Petrom SA, which extracts crude, with a turnover of almost 13.7 billion lei.

According to 2015 preliminary data, since there are other companies whose balance sheet is available on the mfinante.ro website, there are still 116 companies in the Romanian economy with a turnover in excess of one billion lei last year. Carrefour Romania took ninth place, Metro Cash & Carry is on the 14th place, Auchan Romania on the 15^th place, while Mega Image, with a turnover of nearly 3.6 billion lei, takes the 23rd place. Dedeman Bacau, the largest entrepreneurship company, takes the 17th position in the general classification. The top 100 entrepreneurship companies are all in the black, except RCS&RDS, which reported a 22 million lei loss as compared to last year. On the other hand, top 100 has 16 multinationals with losses, the quoted source adds.
